World’s Ugliest Dog

For three years running Sam has won the San Francisco Sonoma-Marin Fair’s“World’s Ugliest Dog” competition. I’ve been meaning to blog this ever since my father-in-law Brian showed it to me a week ago. The pictures really say it all. Is there a single endearing characteristic about this animal?
I searched around a lot, but could not find any of the runners-up out there. I have no doubt that this is undeniably the world’s ugliest. However, apparently his health is fading so I wonder what the competition will grace us with in years to come.
This UK site claims to have some ugly dogs, but they just don’t compare.
Well, anyway, here’s all the pictures I turned up of this handsome devil.

I invite anyone with complaints to come and see how absolutly adored and well cared for this dog is and to touch his leg and see how little it takes to get him snarly. One time, SAM came SCREAMING into the house dragging his back leg..I dropped the dish I was carrying and thought he had gotten out and been hit by a car or something. When I caught up with him in the bedroom he was looking back at his back leg and screaming and growling..WELL…there was a post-it note stuck on his rump..he had sat on it on the sofa and it stuck. The last thing in the world I would do is hurt SAM but it does NOT take much to get him growling//usually he just does it on his own anyway!

Zippy - the 4 time Ugly Dog trophy winner and local favorite of Naples & Bonita Springs Florida passed away shortly before Sam. Maybe they were a match made for Heaven.

He’s very ugly i admit but from his pics i sense something very nice about Sam. Deep inside, he’s like all other dogs - man’s best friend!!
Really Sam was not that friendly… In fact his owner’s boyfriend broke up with her because Sam was so miserable.
Interestingly, Sam’s best (imaginary) friend lived in his back leg.
Hahaha what an awesome dog. Everyone should feel more complete for seeing this dog. Now if someone’s like, I have an ugly dog you can be like “don’t go there girlfriend! this dog ain’t got nothin on my baby’s daddy!….or something like that”.

It takes a very big heart to keep Sam. I adore animals, especially dogs but I would never have the guts to keep a dog like Sam. His owner should be proclamed a heroin of all dogs!!

First of all I am an animal lover so I do not care how ugly a creature is I still love them all. SAM looked like a great dog…perhaps a little scary but who knows but his owner what his personallity was like.

I think your late dog is really cute. Being an ugly dog to look at will cheer up anyone’s day if they have the guts to interact with this dog. I’m sure he’s got a really cute and funny character. Ugly dogs tend to make you see the better side of them… I’d really want to play and cuddle with this dog… For all, whether a dog is cute/ugly is based on the character of the dog! not the looks of it!!! Look into their eyes and you’ll see that all dogs are really cute!!!

That poor thing. If only the owner had the common sense to actually take care of the dog, then it wouldn’t look half as bad. Look at the poor dog’s nails FFS! And maybe a visit to the vets at the right time might have saved the dog’s eyes. It just shows what a grade A tit the owner is. She should be fined for neglecting an animal, not praised for torturing the poor thing and making it look horrible.
