Grayson

Note, I recommend the High Res 60MB version of this if you are at all interested beyond the first 30 seconds. The YouTube version is here for the lazy and/or bandwidth challenged
A fan written script about a post Batman era Dick Grayson led to the creation of this trailer. The trailer is a bit long and pretty much tells the overall scope of the story. Batman is gone, but villains rise up again in his absence. Grayson re-dons the guise of Robin to fight crime in Gotham City once more. Cameo appearances come from Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, Batgirl and more.
In watching the trailer it’s obviously amateur in it’s portrayal of nearly the whole of the story in a fully linear manner. Trailers need to make you want to find out what happens and get excited about potential, I feel like I know way too much after watching this, but of course this can be forgiven as it seems unlikely this film will ever be produced in it’s entirety anyway… I didn’t read the script, so I’d hope it’s development is a touch more mature. I want to want more from this, but don’t…
I can partially understand the appeal of this as a popular internet phenomenon, it is good in a generally poor area of fan created action/adventure films.

Never Liked Wonder Woman Anyway…

Joss Whedon is officially no longer writing the script for the upcoming Wonder Woman movie.
Joss’ statement about parting ways:
We just saw different movies, and at the price range this kind of movie hangs in, that’s never gonna work. Non-sympatico. It happens all the time. I don’t think any of us expected it to this time, but it did. Everybody knows how long I was taking, what a struggle that script was, and though I felt good about what I was coming up with, it was never gonna be a simple slam-dunk.
I have to say, I love Joss, but I’m not a DC comics fan and especially uninterested in Wonder Woman. Don’t get me wrong, I love the female protagonist hero, I just think Wonder Woman is nearly as lame as Aquaman. Again though… if it’s DC, I only really care about Batman, Green Lantern, The Question, and Superman in the right doses. Admittedly… I usually enjoy the Justice League in general, but the individuals are less interesting. Back on topic though, I don’t think it matters who writes this movie, it has a high likelihood of being terrible.
Thanks to Jenny for the heads up on this.

Comic Book Art Mashups

Worth 1000 hosts regular photoshop contest challenges, each of which intrigues me for one reason or another. In the past they ran a couple contests called Superhero ModRen and Superhero ModRen 2 which challenged competitors to create images combining superheroes and fine art pieces.
The above image combines the nude female figure from William Adolphe Bouguereau’s “Cupid and Psyche” with Spider-Man to form what I think is absolutely brilliant. You’d almost think Spidey was painted right in there. Other images feature Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Doctor Octopus, Robin, Wolverine, and more!
Defintitely check out both galleries, you are sure to be entertained. If these happen to be your cup of tea, browse deeper into Worth 1000, many of the artists competing here blow me away with their creativity.
(On a side note, the above image and many that are linked, contain full frontal nudity, but I can’t imagine they are offensive or pornographic…)
