Optimus Prime shows up at the Burger King drive through, argues to be allowed to order, transforms as a loophole, and is still denied for having no driver! Awesome. Is this the first time we’ve seen him speak?

Transformers Movie: Sweet Stand-up Poster

DreamWorks Pictures has released this sweet new stand-up poster or “standee” for director Michael Bay’s Transformers, opening in theaters on July 4. The sci-fi action-adventure stars Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Anderson, Rachael Taylor, Megan Fox, John Turturro and Jon Voight.
Optimus Prime staring down Megatron with the “defend” and “destroy” below their images respectively. It kind of gives me chills a bit. I was initially hesitant, but am now entirely excited about the release of this film!

Transformers Movie Clips on SectorSeven.org

If you go to SectorSeven.org you are presented with a somewhat mysterious login screen. Enter ‘FWIFFO’ and you will get in. At this point you have a computer desktop like interface to click around within. If you poke around enough, you will find a bunch of video clips and other information from the upcoming Transformers movie. The clips include Grimlock, an insecticon, Bumblebee, and others. This is a pretty cool marketing gimmick site. Definitely worth checking out.

Transformers Movie Trailer

Matt asked me earlier if I had heard about a new Transformers movie trailer, but I hadn’t. Moments later I noticed an email from Keith pointing out the trailer on Yahoo. In fact Keith also sent me along this great slew of Transformers movie pictures.
The teaser trailer did not reveal much, where this trailer gives us a much better feel for the movie. I gotta say, I like it.
There seems to be a pretty strong human component to this film which is important to me. Additionally, the trailer indicates a good strong amount of action. This is expected and welcome in a Michael Bay film (see Bad Boys). Finally, I really like how the transformers look. The special effects are spot on.
If I can convince Keith to throw his expertise at this, I’ll follow up with a scene by scene. Unfortunately I’m not knowledgeable enough to do it on my own. So… if you don’t see the follow up, blame Keith ;)

There are a few new ones here as well as some classic favorites. Another exciting recent item about the movie was the announcement of Peter Cullen reprising the voice role of Optimus Prime. I know I’m excited. In the meantime, go watch the teaser trailer!
