Spectacular Spider-Man Animated Series!

No shock, but this is an extremely exciting announcement for me. In the video we only see Spider-Man as a whole, but there are snippets of a few other classic villains shown in this order: Doc Ock, Lizard or Scorpion, Electro, Goblin, Vulture, Sandman and Venom.
This will be arriving sometime in 2008!

With much joy I found that HomestarRunner.com is now offering Strong Bad emails as free video podcasts on the iTunes music store! Having Strong Bad pushed to my iPod on a regular basis is about as cool as it gets. So check it out. No, seriously, go check it out…
If you are looking for other Homestar Runner related goodness, I highly recommend the fan-run Homestar Runner Wiki. There is an absolutely excessive quantity of Homestar information, facts and transcripts from basically everything that’s ever been done on the site.
One other cool thing to check out is this great interview with the Homestar Runner creators, the “Brothers Chaps”.

Ultimate Avengers - The Movie

Marvel released the straight to DVD movie Ultimate Avengers today. This PG-13 rated animated action/adventure film is the first in a series of at least four animated feature length films and two tv series Marvel has in the works, including: Ultimate Avengers 2, an Iron Man movie, a Dr. Strange movie, a Fantastic Four series, and a “Wolverine and the X-Men” series.
The movie centers around Captain America, Nick Fury, and Bruce Banner almost equally. The story told here stays true to the basic characters and universe defined in The Ultimates. Mostly this movie stands as a setup for further Ultimate Avengers movies, but it succeeds admirably at this.
I have to say, if all of them are as good as this film, Marvel is crazy not to run them through the theater first… Go rent or buy this, Marvel needs encouragement to continue pumping out a couple of these each year!

He-Man Hits DVD

I’ve been waiting for a long time for the classic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoons to find there way to DVD. This week a “best of” set was released containing 10 episodes voted as best on He-Man.org. It sounds as though this is just a tease before the eventual release of all 130 episodes later this year, according to AndyMangels.com. I also found this article featuring the box art.
While poking around Amazon and getting all excited, I decided to compile a list of all the TV cartoons I was excited about on DVD. The wish list list includes classics like Looney Tunes, Batman, GI-Joe, Transformers, etc. As well as newer greats like the Simpsons. Futurama, and the Family Guy.
