Subservient Chicken and Other Internet Hilarity
August 5, 2005
On Alexa today i came across WatchMeChange.com which is dynamic set of 3D models that you can put clothes on and have them dance around. A friend of mine and I thought of a similar idea like this over a year ago, but never got the time and effort into developing such a thing. It is a fun little amusement that I think was put together for Gap.
I was then led to some other work by the same company who made this, the most entertaining of which is SubservientChicken.com. This allows you to type commands at a virtual guy in a chicken suit and have him do whatever you ask. Hugely fun.
Then I checked out SithSense.com which pits you against Lord Vader in a game of 20 questions. Both Sith Sense and Subservient Chicken were made as marketing for Burger King. I hope someone is paying those guys well, because the stuff their putting out right now is hugely entertaining. Have you actually read any of food packaging there lately? (See also Watto Pr0n)
The final project I checked by these guys is an apparently award winning full blown site, CounterfietMini.com. Also very funny.
I found the links to all these projects over on dullneon, which turns out to have some other great links to fun web stuff I didn’t know about. Have you seen Montage-a-google? Or Guess-the-Google? (I scored a 265). This is Google image search on crack.
