Leinenkugel’s Sunset Wheat
// August 20th, 2007 // My Stuff
Leinenkugel’s Sunset Wheat is an award winning spicy wheat beer. When enjoyed in my weizen glass the natural coriander and citrus flavors are very strong and enjoyable. This beer is brewed by the J. Leinenkugel Brewing Company in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. The brewery dated back to 1867 through five generations of family ownership.
I highly recommend this beer. I wish I could get a hold of more from the Leinenkugel Brewing Company like the Apple Spice, Summer Shandy, Honey Weiss, Berry Weiss, Red, Creamy Dark, or the Bigg-Butt Dopplebock! Unfortunately Sunset Wheat is the only beer I can enjoy from them in my area.

Flavoured beers still seem like the devil’s work to me.
This isn’t actually a flavored beer. OK.. the coriander is a flavor, but really more of a spice. The citrus flavor is entirely natural of all weisen beers.
Leinenkugel’s are my favorite beers, and not just because I live 45 minutes away from the brewery! Berry Weiss is my favorite, which used to be a seasonal beer but I believe they are now making it year-round. Honey Weiss is my second favorite. I’ve never heard of Apple Spice, so I’ll be on the lookout for that.
