Hundreds of Sheep Jump to Their Deaths
// July 12th, 2005 // My Stuff
Justin sent me along a sad yet appropriate article about hundreds of sheep jumping to their deaths in Turkey as a real life example of the namesake of this website. The most frightening part as far as I’m concerned is not just the unnecessary amount of death (450 died, nearly 1500 jumped), but rather the financial impact this will end up having on the community. According to the article, GDP in Turkey is about $2,700 per head, and this sheep loss is valued at $100,000.
Stupid behavior of mindless followers costs a great deal not only to themselves but to the whole of the community surrounding them.
