Tom: I agree completely. In general I don’t worry about that at all. What I do find uber useful is being able to click colors on the wheel and have them saved on the left. Very handy when building palettes.

It’s probably important to note that what is typically called the “web safe” palette actually isn’t. (http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/00/37/index2a.html)

The palette that is actually web safe consists of just these colors.

So few people have less than 24 bit color displays these days that there’s a lot of other things that development time can be better spent on.
