Firefly Season 2

An independent group is pushing for a subscription based season 2 of Firefly. Delivered through streaming media or on demand pay per view, whatever. You have to be in support of this.

Captain Mal and the crew of Serenity need your help to stay flying.We are looking to push the envelope of episodic television by offering Season Two of Firefly in a groundbreaking new format. Each episode (or the entire season) would be made available for purchase in Standard or Hi-Definition.

When you say “sign the petition” do you mean the survey that says “This is not a petition! This information will be used to determine the fans’ choice of direction for the series”?
Furthermore, since they want accurate data they also ask that you “Please submit only ONCE.” (Their emphasis, not mine).

Yeah, definition of petition: “A written document of protest that requests that some action be taken by the target of the petition.”
They may claim it isn’t, but if they are using people’s responses to encourage Fox to deliver a second season in a format desired by fans, that’s a petition.
“Do it. Do it nine times.” is a Home Star Runner reference, sorry you didn’t catch it…
I just really want people to be aware that the show is not neccessarily dead yet. I encourage all to fill out the “survey” in it’s entirety. I for one do not want to lose these characters.

I read it not as them trying to get fox to make another season, but them trying to get Fox to sell them the rights to continue it on their own.
They also claim that the survey information is only going to be used for marketing purposes: “The optional information collected at this site is simply used to determine where and how the series should be marketed to consumers.”

are your comments bashing Firefly 2 or just commenting on it? seem kinda snappy and anything that wants to further Firefly seems like a good thing in my book

hmm… well considering the crazy profitable success of Firefly Season 1 (I refuse to call it the complete series), I’d think that delivering this in a gigital only format would both make serious in roads for that delivery method as well as provide many fans with well deserved happiness.
