Blade Series
May 22, 2006
I love shows about vampires, both Buffy and Angel rank among my favorite shows ever on television. Additionally, I liked all three Blade movies. With this in mind I had been pretty excited about the upcoming Blade: The Series which will be running on SpikeTV.
However, my hopes for this show quickly went in the toilet after seeing this trailer. The dialog seems forced and any hope for good character development seems like a long shot. Hopefully I’m wrong. I’d really like Marvel to have some luck with TV adaptations of their characters.

Got something to say?

Blade the Series is terrible! Who cast Kirk ‘Sticky’ Jones as the lead? This guy has zero screen presence. Everyone knew he would be compared to Snipes, and this guy ain’t no Snipes.
Who else? Goyer.
And after his blatent betrayal of the franchise with “Blade Travesty” or whatever he called it (”Trinity” some sort of tie in to his “Trinity Base” in his crap Nic Fury movie?) it no wonder that the series is rubbish, or that Snipes wanted to sue him.
Blade/Blade II were tough cool movies, “Blade Travesty” was just the usual “humilate the hero” garbage. Gimp garbage for self-loathers and neo-suicidals…mosochism by proxy. It was all about making Blade look belittled. It couldn’t have been more different than the first two films…it even put me off watching Blade & Blade II for a while.
If Blade has a future, it should be with Snipes…but most definitely it would have to be without David Goyer.
