[...] From the mind of Ricky Gervais and drawn exquisitely by Rob Steen, Flanimals are about the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Each of these tragic creatures is explained in great detail in the “children’s books” Flanimals and More Flanimals. Soon we will look into the sea with Flanimals of the Deep. But more significantly, a full blown, prime time, animated series is now in the works! The show is expected to hit ITV in 2007 or 2008. Gervais hot off his successes with The Office, Extras, and podcasting is creating six 30-minute episodes which will run on Sunday evenings, targeted at youth and adults. Even better? He’s signed former animators from Aardman to bring the likes of Puddloflaj, Munge Fuddler, Glonk, Munty Flumple, Clunge Ambler, Grundit, Mernimbler, and more to life in claymation.
