Considering that Spider-Man's suit is actually Red and Black...not Red and Blue. It was originally....Red and Black (blue highlights are a comic liability/stylistic issue...)but, the blue highlights took over, till the suit was depicted as Red and Blue with black shadows.

Black re-intrepreted as blue.
The same thing happened to The Batman; Black Bolt; Black Canary; Black Panther; the Beast (grey to blue); all of whom are not dressed in blue.

To give in to this is to give up and just depict Wonder Woman and Superman as having blue hair.

Red and Blue makes no sense for the character. The original Red and Black costume evokes spidery colors like the black with red marking 'black widow spider' and is in keeping with Spider-Man's original sinister appearance.

certainly the super hero registration act is going to cause some serious contention in this budding relationship. I'll be posting some more of my thoughts on this soon.

I think that it is about time for Spiderman to get a new costume. I mean how long has he had the old one, like 50 years? And this new costume has so many special features on it. I used to think that Spiderman was kind of a weak superhero, but now I can't wait to find out what this new costume can do. The only thing I am confused about is how is Peter going to respond to the super hero registration act and the fact that Tony Stark wants to voluntarily support. I mean the reason he wears a mask is to hide his identity.

[...] It’s highly entertaining that first images of the black costume premiering in Spider-Man 3 comes the same month as the printed comic reveals a new costume. [...]

[...] Apparently in the next issue of Amazing Spider-Man we can expect a new suit revelation, though I’m certain it will not last. For more on the new costume from an article in Newsarama that quotes J. Michael Straczynski: Between the physical changes to Peter that follow the aftermath of The Other, he gets a second power upgrade courtesy of the ‘Iron Spider’ suit from Stark. What he will discover is that with great power comes not just responsibility but one heck of a price tag. Peter will have to decide if he can pay that price in loyalty to Tony, when the loyalty may cost him things he holds dearest. He will find himself caught in the middle of the Civil War, seeing all sides of the argument, but will be eventually forced to make a decision that will change both his life and the whole Marvel Universes.
at first i was against it to, i mean, Yellow???
but later i saw another picture of the suit and it kind of grew on me, and i'm not the only one.
at first i thought they would use the red/black suit that they never used, but, hey, maybe they wil use it someday
